For more than 10 years, Total Contact, Inc. has been using the Cyberware 3030/RGB Head & Face 3D Scanner to safely, rapidly and accurately capture patient data. A safe low-intensity laser is projected onto the patient while a sensor captures the profile. The system can digitize thousands of profiles in a few seconds to capture accurate shape information. At the same time a second sensor acquires color texture information.
The scanning process captures an array of digitized points, with each point represented by X, Y, and Z coordinates for shape and 24-bit RGB values for color. The patient's scan is ready for viewing within seconds.
