How do I get a burn mask? Please email us or contact us by phone. We can give you more information about any questions you may have. In addition, we can help you arrange for a scan, fitting, and payment.
Our Total Contact scanning systems are in place at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, the William Randolph Hearst Burn Center in New York, the Oregon Burn Center, Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, and a children’s burn hospital in Boston, as well as our office in Germantown, Ohio. If transportation is a problem, we may be able to get you to a hospital equipped with our scanning system if there is not one within your driving distance.
After you are scanned, the mask is shipped within 3- 5 days to a burn center nearest you. (Overnight shipment is available if necessary.) A fitting for the mask can be done either at the hospital where the scan was taken, or with the therapist at your hospital of choice. A prescription and letter of medical necessity from your physician are required to obtain a mask. Your therapist will then take over care and use of the mask at his or her discretion.
